6 years ago, when Ryan Dzingel just turned 20 years old, He skated with us when we went to Columbus. Ryan is now 26 years old and he scored his 22nd and 23rd goals on the last day of the season.  That tied him for the most goals for the Ottawa Senators.

Duffer News

Semi-True Story, Believe it or not!

Romeoville, IL April 27, 2018  Attendance: 28
I usually try to remember what happened on Friday when I wake up on Saturday, but I had a busy weekend watching Tommy Z, my son and grandsons play in the Men's league State tournaments so I didn't get around to asking T&A, my data brain, who scored last Friday until Tuesday night. Tom sent the report listed below. I only saw one flaw in his report and that was because he gave my goal to Geno.  I was able to remember that goal because I scored it while wearing the Kings pants.* Jack Kroll put a perfect pass on my tape that I fired at the net.  Bill BTW used his great hand eye coordination to redirect my shot past Johnny B. (That will be entered into the Duffer History page) Speaking of the Duffer History page, Jeff Lopez is studying our history page so that he can make a video for the College of DuPage covering the Duffer's 47 year history.  He will have his camera and crew at our May 11 finale.
*The King donated his silver anniversary hockey bag and all of his hockey equipment. His bag and shin Guards are still unclaimed. Let me know and I'll bring them to the final game.

Beak is in the King's Pants.

See picture above. I was listening to a Music Duffer CD that the Czar made years ago and one of the lines from a Jimmy Buffett song hit me as I was singing along. "It's a semi-true story Believe it or not I made up a few things And there's some I forgot" That line describes my newsletters that are written 4 or 5 days after the game. Our memories were blurred a little when Wild Wings Manager, Kristen started buying shots for The Duffers. Kristen was a rookie manager that was broken in by the Duffers and Hacksaw 9 or 10 years ago, so  she was so happy to see us. Kristen offered to bring wings to our Season ending cook out on May 11. I have to remember to remind her because she made that offer after she had a few shots with us.   *Listen to Semi-True Story

We think that we had a 5-5 tie.
Reds - T&A -2 (Beak assisted on the first and Tommy Z on the second), TO-1, Brian - 1 and Beak -1.
Whites - Terry -2, Gear Head Greg - 1, little Bill -1 and Birdman Dan -1 (The game tying goal)
Johnny B and The Anvil were Stellar in goal!

Memorable Moments:

Brian Stewart is still perfect.

Birdman Dan tied the game!

We said good by to John "Magoo" Laundry last week I presented him with pictures of the following memorable events.  He retired and moved to South Carolina.

The Kings pants were lucky for Beak last week.

T&A joined us for lunch at the Woodridge Kilt last week.  We will lunch at the Vault in Lemont next week at 1:00.

September 1; Muzzy passed away. He gave us more laughs than any other Duffer.

He was born on May 20, 1935.  My son Dan was born on his birthday in 1970.

We shared a lot of Muzzy pictures in the last Newsletter.

This was 1997 when we brought up Robby Granato to give the Bombers 2 Illinois ringers.  We filled most of the coach seats and avoided a fun tax.  This is the year that Muzzy shocked Hayward church goers when he came out of the church and boarded the bus with toilet paper streaming out of his pants. Read More....
