	No Beer in a Beer League?


	May 25, 2017. Wags Vs. Puckups Whenever General Manager Ed Waghorn goes AWOL, The Wags hockey team has problems. Killer forgot to bring the jerseys, we had a beer bag with no beer, but thanks to MVP Brad Murphy he emptied his refrigerator and brought 24 beers. The players took the ice wearing whatever jerseys they found in the bottom of their bags. Dan Lopatka was pressed into playing goalie and he kept the Puckups scoreless for half of the game. Wags was scoreless too until Roadrunner Jay scored on a pass from Jack Iandoli with 1:36 left in period one. Twenty six seconds into the 2nd period, Jack made it 2-0 with an assist going to number 12. I don't know who that was maybe Steve Gaul or Brad Murphy. Remember, the Jerseys were


	Winning Goalie Dan Lopatka with goal scorer Killer Kyle.


	all mismatched with weird numbers. Tony Letto ended Dan's shutout at 10:35 when he slipped one past his own goalie. So Wags scored 3 goals, but the score was 2-1. With 6:23 left in the second period, Jason "Bara" Kuta scored a beautiful goal assisted by Killer Kyle. Kevin "Smooth as" Glass made it 4-1 when he blasted a shot from the point that hit an opponent in the hand and deflected into the net. That guy was shaking that hand for quite a while. I thought he lost a finger. That goal was unassisted but I think Matt "The Swatter" Swastek may have gotten the assist. Then again, it may have been Mike Miller. It looked like we were on our way with a 3 goal lead but The Puckups finally scored a goal without Tony's help with 11:23 minutes left to play. Oh no, a 2 goal lead! You guessed it, they scored two minutes later at 9:25. All of a sudden we had a thriller. It stayed close for the rest of the game with many opportunities and great saves by Lopatka. Jack got sent to the sin-bin with 3:59 left in the game for body checking. Wags killed that off and got help when one of their Puckup knuckleheads got a penalty for tripping with three minutes left in the game. So four on four action ensued until Jack got out and Killer Kyle scored a

power-play goal with 1:30 left in the game.

Dan picked up the win just 5 days after his 47th birthday.	Killer Kyle scored the insurance goal that iced the 5-3 win.
We had 3 fans cheering on the Wags Players.
