Welcome to Lopatka.net!  This site was shut down for a few days because it was attacked by an unusually large number of hits.  We don't know if it was terrorist or Mike "The Nailer" DeVivo's friends trying to read about his hat trick.

Beak and Brinks Sink the Stump!

October 12th
Beak took a pass from his son Ken, then he whipped a back-hander off of Beavis'skate that rattled off of Stump's skates to give the Whites an early meaningful lead.  You may recall that Beavis has been bouncing shots off of Beak all year, so it was time for Beak to return the favor.  Brinks later beat Stump with a blistering wrist shot to give Gary "The Ghost" and the Home team a 2-0 meaningful win. The meaningless contest was a lot closer as Tommy, Doc and Gilbert scored for the Blues and Roger and Tweedy scored to give the Whites a come from behind meaningless tie.

The only disappointment of the night came when only 6 guys showed up at Platos.  It wasn't easy eating 3 large pizzas and 4 orders of wings.  Mom felt sorry for us, so she gave us a few free beers and some coupons for next week so we can take the sting out of the bill.

Peoria Roadtrip
Kevin Granato is a member of the Peoria Rivermen.  It looks like we can get 10 players to go to Peoria on Saturday November 17. If we go on the 17th, we can see a Sunday afternoon game on the 18th. If you are not sure that you want to go to Peoria, just pop the Duffer CD II into your CD-ROM drive and watch the Peoria slide and music show, you will sign up for a trip as soon as you finish.

New Orleans Roadtrip
The Peoria Rivermen go to Arkansas on March 12, Louisiana on the 14th, New Orleans on Friday the 15th and Florida for games on the 17th and 19th.  If we have a few Duffers, we can take a Rivermen  fan bus there.  If we have enough to put a team on the ice, we can take a train to the “City of New Orleans.” We need to know soon.

Beak's Roofing Party turned out to be a wet one on Saturday, so it had to be extended to Sunday. That 30 pack of Strohs just made it through the Bear game.

A message from Jimmy Buffett as he canceled three concerts.
To all our fans I would simply say do what you can in this serious and tragic hour, from donating blood to talking to your children. Lord Buckley, the great old hip comedian, once said, “Terror is the absence of humor, and humor is the absence of terror.” Our sense of humor is one of our most precious natural resources as Americans, and  we will put this tragedy behind us and dance again. And  when we do, Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefer band will be there to lead the parade. Until then, keep your fins up and
           God Bless America.
