We had several fun filled trips to Madison.
We watched Kevin Granato play in 2001, then partied with Keith Magnuson and Cliff Koroll. Madison Wis. 2001 We had 7 duffers packed into the Berserk Van.

In 1992, Wally Kraft rented a Camper and we went to see Brian Kraft who was captain of his Anchorage Alaska Team play Donny Granato who was captain of the Wisconsin Badgers who went on to win the National Championship. Only the following entry in the Duffer News remains from that trip:

January, 1992;   3 Duffer SODs captain their College Teams.  Brian Kraft (Anchorage Alaska)  Don Granato, (University of Wisconsin) and Dan Lopatka.  (University of Wisconsin. River Falls) All 3 players were from Downers Grove.
A dozen Duffers travel to Madison to watch Brian and Don lock horns.  The rented Camper ran out of gas on the way home.

I got home at sunrise and had to think of a lie that my wife would believe.  She would never believe that we ran out of gas.

Beak

Bob "Buckshot" Morgan had a great time at Brian Kraft's lodge in Alaska.

Happy Birthday to Tommy Z and Fruitcake Fred!

Bobka Blows up the Scoreboard!

Romeoville, IL September 30, 2016  Attendance: 27

When the game started, we had 3 forward lines with 2 centers. Joe "Olgie" showed up late dressed in white.  When he went to the White bench, TZ realized that another player would give them 3 centers and cut his ice time by 33%, so he sent Joe back to the locker room to get dressed in Red and cut the Red Centers ice time.  That was cruel, poor Joe missed most of the 1st period and had to play against his dear old Dad. (Not uncommon in Duffers' Hockey, because Grandpa Ken played against his Dad and sons Mike and Jeff.) The Whites took a 3-0 lead with goals by T&A's guest, John Schurman, Rags and Greg Z.  Jeff "Speed Racer" finally scored for the Reds. To make it 3-1.  Monet Mike and V-Man had one each, but Rags added another ice hugging

Dena was so happy to see 3 tables filled with big tipping Duffers celebrating Fruitcake's Birthday.

goal to give the Whites 4 goals.  That was big because Fred "Fruitcake" Bobka scored the 5th goal and when you apply the Bobka Factor that was developed in 1982, the Whites were credited with 25 (5 squared) goals.  Speed Racer and Joe "Olgie" Mazzarella scored to make it Whites 29, Reds 5Terry "Crash" Nance added a goal and then Fred scored the next goal that will cause a revision of the Bobka factor because the developers  never dreamed Fred could score 2 goals in a season let alone in one game.  If you square 30, you get 900 that gives the Whites a 930 to 5 win.

The only thing that might explain this anomaly is that Fred brought in a case of beer to celebrate his birthday. Happy Birthday Fred!  If you want to see the Bobka Factor.  Google it like I did and this

site from 2010 came up. http://www.lopatka.net/10-01-15/index.html (If you view this with Internet

Explorer, the Sweet Home Chicago will play while you are studying the Bobka Factor)

Perfect Attendance: Anvil, Beak, Doc, Fruitcake, Greg Z, Magoo, Monet Mike, Olgi Joe and Terry .

Ken had a great time beating his sons and Dad!

Grandpa Ken beat his dad and sons' team.

Tommy realizes that he will be as old as Tweedy in a week.

Greg Z gives the Czar a vote for Trump message.

Grandpa Ken got picked on by Dena for his owl Hockey shirt.

Mike asks TZ, "Are you going to be 46?"

T&A wants to know where is everybody?

My Grandson Mike bought me this Polish Hawkski shirt.

Our Polish waitresses loved the shirt.
