Commander Ken gets the Hat!

Romeoville, IL April 14, 2017  Attendance: 25
 We had another good turnout considering that it was Good Friday and many Duffers were at church for Stations of the Cross services or at home getting their Easter baskets ready for blessings on Holy Saturday. Good Friday was good for Grandpa Ken because he had the night off and was able to make it to the game and skate with his Dad Beak, son Mike and grandkids Carmela and Lennie. Ken looked great for not skating in months because of work conflicts. He scored one goal after picking his son’s pocket and almost got another when he was awarded a penalty shot when Tomas “t&a” Ambrosia fell on a puck in the Anvil’s crease. Eddie the Anvil made a great save on Ken’s blistering wrist shot to save t&a. Commander Ken did most of the damage to Barron the Bear with 3 goals. Monet Mike always delights when he scores on his co-worker, but The Bear stopped all of his shots except one that was a rocket into the blocker side top shelf.

The Ambrosias padded our attendance in the 1st period

Bear played a great game, considering that a last minute piercing made him late. The Czar did a nice job playing goalie for a couple of shifts while the Bear was getting dressed. Grandpa Ken was impressed with how much he has improved since Ken’s last game. The T&A Father son combination each had a goal. Lil’ Tom claims that his goal was an accident because he shot at Bear's pads to give Hammer a rebound, but his shot beat the Bear in the 5 hole by accident. Brian “Fuzzy” Stewart had the other Red goal. John Schuurman scored the first White goal and BBTW had the second one. Grandpa Ken scored the last goal as the Reds downed the Whites 7-3.

I got a Duffer Church Key for Easter from my son in law Dan.

4 generations of Beaks.

The Lopatkas had 2 goals.

The Ambrosias scored 2 goals too.

Chris fades back and throws Ken a beer.

Commander Ken had 3 goals to help the Reds win.

The Czar got 2 minutes for tackling T&A.

My finger over the flash put these 2 in the dark.

We had fun!

The bleeding hearts are in full bloom.

My son in law Dan gave me this Hamm's Bear Church Key for Easter.
