September 1; Muzzy passed away. He gave us more laughs than any other Duffer.

He was born on May 20, 1935.  My son Dan was born on his birthday in 1970.

We shared a lot of Muzzy pictures in the last Newsletter.

This was 1997 when we brought up Robby Granato to give the Bombers 2 Illinois ringers.  We filled most of the coach seats and avoided a fun tax.  This is the year that Muzzy shocked Hayward church goers when he came out of the church and boarded the bus with toilet paper streaming out of his pants. Read More....

Tommy Z wins 2!

Romeoville, IL September 22, 2017  Attendance: 21
Last week, the Czar sent "2 goal" Harvey to the Whites for a player to be named later in a pre game deal.  That player turned out to be Joe "Olgi" Mazzarella who showed up late in the first period and scored 2 goals for the Reds.  This week, the Whites jumped out to a 2 goal lead with goals by Monet Mike and the fuzzy Italian, (Joe Olgi). Tommy Z decided that The Whites were in need of a meaningful player, so he traded himself for  Harvey who has been an Octogenarian for almost a year. (He will be 81 on October 21) That move energized the Reds as they scored 3 quick

A few of us were able to get to the Kilt before the kitchen closed!

goals to take the lead.  Eddie the Anvil got serious and stopped every shot after that trade while his teammates put 6 goals on the board. 2 goals by Brian the Stew and Bill BTW.  Solo goals by Mini Wheeser and Bird Man Dan.  Mini Wheezer had a break away goal where he managed to score without crashing into the Bear.  I find it strange that when a goalie is 100 pounds lighter than him, he crashes. (You may find it hard to believe that The Bear has a few more pounds on his thick frame than Mini Wheezer does.)

Other Birthdays: We celebrated 3 on Wednesday.  Magoo Hit 70, Thor reached 68 and GI Joe hit 58 on September 20. We celebrated Mike Oskroba's birthday after the game.  He reached 48. Fruitcake hit 70 on October 1 and Monet Mike will be 33 on October 9. George Carlin says, "You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping way. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are gone." You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday! You get into your 80's and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30 ; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn't end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; 'I Was JUST 92.'

Scoring Summery: Tommy Z won 2 games without scoring a goal.

October 6 is our next game at 9:00.  Uncle Bob and his son Ben are planning to pump up our attendance.  Ben wants to sharpen his skills before he starts his season with the Peoria Riverman. Uncle Bob wants to find out if he remembers how to skate. He will be taking 40 second shifts like Patrick Kane.  Ben is Mini Wheezer's cousin. He is 6'5" and weighs less than Mike.  Mini Wheezer has invited us to his house after the game

because the Kilt kitchen closes at 11:30.

Mr. Magoo and Fruitcake Fred are septuagenarians.

Boris left Irma to be with us. (Hurricane Irma)

Monet Mike was wiped out after being stoned by the Anvil.

Commander Ken was out of town at a tournament getting compliments about his Duffer Jersey.
