Welcome to

We will play our annual Thanksgiving game at 8:30 A.M. at Downers Grove Icearena

We have changed our Madison trip to   a car/van Road trip like we had last year.  We will not play a Duffer game, but we will go to Men's Badger games on Friday and Saturday evenings. Some guys have expressed an interest in attending the #1 Badger Women play St. Cloud State on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Let me know now if you can join us. The women's games sell out quickly.

Next Duffer Game is Thanksgiving at 8:30

The Reds win a Thriller!

Romeoville, IL November 17, 2017  Attendance: 22
Reds won a come from behind squeaker 7-6. A Buzzer beater by Anthony The Bookie made it close, but the Anvil hung on to pick up the win for the Reds.  The Whites got off to an early lead when Rob "Son of a" Zivalich beat Eddie with a high hard one.  Long lost Terry made it 2-0 with a rebound tap in.  Terry's son Dylan's team has kept Terry on the run. Tom "T&A" Ambrosia cut the lead in half when beat the Bear with a backhand lifter. Steve "The Hammer" Hammerquest restored the 2 goal lead when he hammered a blast past the Anvil. V-Man made it 3-2 late in the 1st period.  Terry set up John "UU" Schuurman for a goal to give the Whites a 4-2 lead going into the 2nd period. Monet Mike Lopatka beat the Bear to open the scoring in period 2.  Mike added another one on his next shift to tie the game at 4-4. V-man scored his second goal when he walked in alone to give the Reds their first lead late in the second period.  The Anvil and Barron exchanged great saves to keep the game close. Terry tied the game with 10:12 left to play, but T&A made it deuces wild when he scored to become the third Red player with 2 goals.  Monet Mike had a chance at his hat trick spoiled when his daughter

Lennie flashes 3 fingers for his dad's Hat Trick!

stripped the puck from him when he was on his way to a clean breakaway. Carmela was our referee hugging the boards when her dad failed to put the puck through her skates. Two shifts later, Mike did get his hat trick when he one timed a hard pass from Guest Bret to give the Reds a 7-5 lead that lasted until Terry fed the puck to Anthony The Bookie who scored with 2 seconds left in the game.  That gave us a thrilling 7-6 game.

White goals: Terry 2, Anthony, UU John , Rob Z and the Hammer.
Red Goals: Monet Mike 3, T&A and V-man each had a pair.
Memorable moments:
Terry and Brian were co-MVPs for bringing the beer.
Guest Greg
is taking Terry's title as the Krash King. Greg had 5 funny loud crashes.  UU had a good one too.  Commander's guest Bret had a nice assist on Monet Mike's Hat trick. Thanks to the Kroll Kids.  Ryan was referee

in charge of our linesmen Chris William, Lennie and Carmela Lopatka. Jack Kroll played a great game without taking a shot while setting up several  goals.

Brian, Anthony, Fred and Beak still have  Perfect Attendance.

V-Man gives us the Bull signal for his 2 goals.

Madison Road Trip January 26-28

We don't have enough skaters to play a Duffer game, so we will just do a Badger game week end.  They are fun to watch.  Two Aurora kids scored their first College goals last Saturday. Sean Dhooghy and his brother Jason are freshmen. Sean played with Donny in the USA development program.  He is 5'3" tall and tips the scale at 139. His big brother Jason is 5 inches taller and 2 pounds heavier. The Badger Women are home that weekend too.  I will be asking for the following Information:

  • Will you need a room for Friday and Saturday?
  • Who is your room mate?
  • Will you want tickets for Men's games?
  • Will you want tickets for Women's games?

Carmela's girl Peewee team beat a boys Peewee team.

Lennie shows us how many goals that his Dad got.

September 1; Muzzy passed away. He gave us more laughs than any other Duffer.

He was born on May 20, 1935.  My son Dan was born on his birthday in 1970.

We shared a lot of Muzzy pictures in the last Newsletter.

This was 1997 when we brought up Robby Granato to give the Bombers 2 Illinois ringers.  We filled most of the coach seats and avoided a fun tax.  This is the year that Muzzy shocked Hayward church goers when he came out of the church and boarded the bus with toilet paper streaming out of his pants. Read More....
