Welcome to

We will play our annual Thanksgiving game at 8:30 A.M. at Downers Grove Icearena

We have changed our Madison trip to   a car/van Road trip like we had last year.  We will not play a Duffer game, but we will go to Men's Badger games on Friday and Saturday evenings. Some guys have expressed an interest in attending the #1 Badger Women play St. Cloud State on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Let me know now if you can join us. The women's games sell out quickly.

Next Duffer Game is November 17, 2017

We Love Goalies!

Romeoville, IL November 10, 2017  Attendance: 18
T&A got his first win as a goalie and then he retired with a perfect record. He looked like the reincarnation of Darren Pang. We went from 3 lines to 2 lines after a 2 week layoff and we had no goalies as late as Thursday. Thanks to some teamwork and phone calls, we had 2 goalies for Friday's game. Rob flew in from Dallas just in time to fill The Anvil's spot and The Hammer brought his son's goalie equipment so that Tom "T&A" Ambrosia could fill the Bear's big skates. A big thank you  to "No Socks" Rob and T&A for playing goalie. We slanted the sides so that T&A would not get killed in his first game in the nets.  The Whites put a lot of shots on Rob who loved it and made some great saves even though he was playing with Jet Lag after flying in that afternoon. The Whites had 2 hat tricks from rookies!

White Goals: John Schurmann - 3, Anthony - 3, Len Edling - 2, BBTW - 1, Grandpa Kenny - 1, The Hammer & VMan - 1.

Tommy Z probably had 7 assists. Len had some nice assists too. Grandpa Ken, BBTW, & VMan hustled all night long on defense to protect their rookie goalie.

T&A and Rob saved the day!

Red Goals: -  Birdman Dan - 2 (He would have scored a hat trick if he didn't hit the post 3 times), The Czar - 1 (Slapshot in the 1st period), Beak -1 (in the 2nd period), and Tommy O - 1 (in the 3rd period)

Memorable moments:

Beak's Son fired a knee high clearing that Beak picked out of the air then he fired an ice hugger through 7 legs and past T&A for a beautiful goal.  That's the way it was described at the bar after a few beers.  Actually, what really happened was Birdman fired a pass out of the corner that hit several sticks and skates before the puck

came right to Beak in the slot. His ice hugger did find it's way into the net. We had a nice turnout at the Kilt as 10 hungry Duffers beat the 11:30 kitchen closing deadline.

T&A and Brian were co-MVPs for bring the beer.

"Young Bookie" Anthony and John Schuurman got their first Duffer Hat tricks, so we may have to cut the puck in half.

Madison Road Trip January 26-28

We don't have enough skaters to play a Duffer game, so we will just do a Badger game week end.  They are fun to watch.  Two Aurora kids scored their first College goals last Saturday. Sean Dhooghy and his brother Jason are freshmen. Sean played with Donny in the USA development program.  He is 5'3" tall and tips the scale at 139. His big brother Jason is 5 inches taller and 2 pounds heavier. The Badger Women are home that weekend too.  I will be asking for the following Information:

  • Will you need a room for Friday and Saturday?
  • Who is your roommate?
  • Will you want tickets for Men's games?
  • Will you want tickets for Women's games?

Goalies Rule!

Anthony got his first Duffer Hat Trick!

Grandpa Ken had one goal.

Birdman Dan had 2 goals.

Tom Had a goal.

John "UU" Schuurman got his first Duffer Hat Trick.

Beak and his son had goals.

These 3 are all smiles when they beat the food Curfew.

Tom and Mike got to order food at 11:29.

We had the biggest turnout of the year.

Vidas got a great Tattoo from Mike.

Brian got this beauty last week.

September 1; Muzzy passed away. He gave us more laughs than any other Duffer.

He was born on May 20, 1935.  My son Dan was born on his birthday in 1970.

We shared a lot of Muzzy pictures in the last Newsletter.

This was 1997 when we brought up Robby Granato to give the Bombers 2 Illinois ringers.  We filled most of the coach seats and avoided a fun tax.  This is the year that Muzzy shocked Hayward church goers when he came out of the church and boarded the bus with toilet paper streaming out of his pants. Read More....
