Reporters Cammi Granato ***** Rich Storm

The Morgans Return!

October 26th
Beak went to Holland, Michigan to watch his grandson Jeff get 5 goals and 4 assists in a Squirt Hockey Tournament, so the following report was e-mailed to the Duffer News by Bob Morgan:
Beak:  Tom (Butt Head) and I (Killer of Small Animals) finally made it To a Duffer's Hockey Game.  Sean (L'il Killer) was allowed to play for the Blues and scored his first Duffer Goal.  The puck has found a place of prominence in his room.  He got a nice pass in the slot and put it in the honey jar.  Tom and I both scored for the Whites so we had great weekends with our wives and will be showing up more regularly.  See you Friday.
Bob
*Editor's Note
It is nice to know that wives still care when their husbands score Duffer goals.  I guess those meaningless goals weren't completly meaningless.  You will have to teach the NYPDs how to use a Duffer goal to get lucky with their wives on Saturday Nights.
The Following Report was sent in by Tom Morgan:
The meaningful and meaningless victories went to the Blue team and their Goalie Brian.
The Ghost held the Whites in there with brilliant goaltending through the first 25 minutes, including a sprawling stop of a  Tommy Zagorski slap shot from 8 feet out.  If anyone has an idea as to why Tommy thinks it's ok to wind up below the face-off circle, please let us know.
Trailing 1-0, Rich Storm of the Blues showed why he's considered one of the top pulling guards in division 4C history as he skated from his right defensive end to the Whites left face-off circle and fired it in to tie the score.
At that point the flood gates opened. Hit Man scored, followed by a Beer Nuts sweeping back hand, followed by
numerous Miller Ultra Light top shelf beauties.
The highlight of the game was created when the Alien held in a Bobka clearing pass and slowly walked into the Blue slot.  With everyone yelling "shoot, Alien, shoot,"  Goalie Brian came way out to cut down the angle.
The Alien then fired a hard pass to Brian's left, and Landry executed an equally hard shot into the open net.
In fact, the pass and shot were so hard it reminded me of accidentally hitting the FF button on the remote while watching a video and quickly htting PLAY again after realizing the mistake.
This game marked Sean Morgan's first Duffer goal on a hard shot from the slot, and the way he skated indicates there will be many more to follow.

Hit Man gets the MVP with two goals.

Peoria Roadtrip

It looks like we have more than 10 players to go to Peoria on Saturday November 17. If we go on the 17th, we can see a Sunday afternoon game on the 18th. If you are not sure that you want to go to Peoria, just pop the Duffer CD II into your CD-ROM drive and watch the Peoria slide and music show, you will sign up for a trip as soon as you finish.

A message from Jimmy Buffett as he canceled three concerts.
To all our fans I would simply say do what you can in this serious and tragic hour, from donating blood to talking to your children. Lord Buckley, the great old hip comedian, once said, “Terror is the absence of humor, and humor is the absence of terror.” Our sense of humor is one of our most precious natural resources as Americans, and  we will put this tragedy behind us and dance again. And  when we do, Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefer band will be there to lead the parade. Until then, keep your fins up and
           God Bless America.
