Thriller, With Many Stars!

Romeoville, IL January 6, 2017  Attendance: 18 (Sad)
Beak's dad was a mail man and he taught him that you have to deliver even in rain, sleet or snow.  It looks like we have a group of stay at home Duffers that go by Mail Man Newman's code.  "I'm calling in sick on any of those conditions."  The cold dry weather left the White team with 7 skaters.  The Reds were a little better off thanks to a great Duffer Wife. I want to nominate Monet Mike's wife Trina for "Duffer Wife of the Year!" Mike's car had a door on the driver's side that would not close, so he tried to start his truck and that wouldn't start in the cold, so she let him take her car to hockey because she knows that he is the beer man and cannot stay home.  When he got to the rink, He discovered that he was missing a shin guard, so he called Trina and she brought it to the rink by driving his car with one hand on the wheel and one hand holding the door closed.  Mike got to play and score the tying goal with 10.3 seconds left in the game and we all had beer after the game. Trina was our MVP! I already nominated her for Hockey Mom of the year for all she does

Tweedy's son Luke looked like a natural playing goalie.

for Lennie and Carmela. She is the best! Thank You Trina.
We started playing 4 on 4 while singing "Where have all the Duffers gone?"  We switched to 5 on 5 after Monet Mike got his shin guard.  The game was close with several lead changes until the Whites pulled away to a 9-6 lead late in the game with 2 goals by
Terry and T&A  ( T&A had an assist on Terry's 2nd goal. Little Bill assisted on both of T&A's goals) V-Man had a hat trick and The Czar and John Schuurman had solo

goals.  Nick DeJesus was on his best behavior as he chose to set up goals and not score on his dear old  Anvil Dad. The Reds got a hat trick from stressed out Monet Mike.  His 3rd and game tying goal was assisted by t&a Thomas who passed up a break away shot to pass to Mike for the tying goal. Bill "Maestro" Conti and Speed Racer Jeff had 2 goals each. Lillia Louis had a nice assist on the Maestro's 2nd goal.  Bill BTW and Thomas t&a had one goal each.  t&a had rap around goal. Final score was Reds 9 and Whites 9

Memorable Moments:

Monet's Mike's wife Trina driving while holding the door closed

The King came to lunch and gave Beak a great gift.

On November 18th, Mini Wheezer's daughter took hundreds of pictures. I posted 18 of those pictures on our December 30 web page.  Here are a few more. She really captured by best side in the picture above.  (Right Above) She caught a great picture of me admiring my son Ken making a nice move on his 11 month old knees. (Right) A picture of me wishing that I had a 20 foot stick.

If you look closely behind the net, you will see why speed kills.

Mini Wheezer has an opponent with his head down and it's no check.

That 37 Jersey is getting a stretch test!

Mini's wife is in a trance watching the speedy Duffers.

Speed Racer Jeff and Lil' Bill have fun chasing each other.

The Hammer is using one of Muzzy's infamous quotes,"Get up Son"

(Right) It looks like The Maestro just stole the puck and he is headed to score one of his many goals.

Mini Wheezer's jersey just can't do the job on this guest!

Text to Mini's Mom, "Mike just scored!, that was a guy in his white jersey."

Terry shows good form as he has his head up ready to shoot, but the puck is behind his stick.

Bill BTW and his daughter Lillia have their hands full helping Ball Peen Hammer ward off the attack.

It looks like Tweedy's son Luke has inherited his Dad's "Goalie Gene". He played well and stopped several break-aways.  Tweedy (Right) has been busy coaching Luke's hockey team and Audrey's softball team.
