June 25, 2015. Crooked Stixs Vs. Wags The last time we played the Crooked Stix in May, they took an early lead and faltered late with Wags walking off with a 10-5 win. Tonight's Championship game started out the same way with the Wags going down 3-1 early. It only took the Stix 3 minutes to take a 1-0 lead. Roadrunner Jay tied the score at 9:27 when he teamed up with Tommy Zagorski and Kevin "Smooth as" Glass for a beautiful goal. That tie disappeared at 2:10 when the Stix beat the "Wall" with a one timer. The Stix went up 3-1 early in the second period, but that was the end of their fun when Ed "The Wall" Waghorn shut the door while his forwards put 5 unanswered goals on the board in the next 19 minutes of play. Jay made it 3-2 with a pass from Tommy Z with 9:47 left in the 2nd period. Jay and Matt "Swatter" Swacztec set up the Glass man 30 seconds later. Kevin would have made Eddie O proud as he heeded Ed's

redundant advice to be patient and wait the goalie out, then shoot and score. The game stayed tied until Killer Sandowski scored a short handed goal that was set up by Jason "Baby Barracuda" Kuta 4 minutes into the 3rd. Killer scored again 30 seconds later with assists from Steve "G-Man" Gahl. That goal really demoralized the Crooked guys. 5 minutes later, The G-Man went on to score his own goal with a pass from Killer and put the Wags up 6-3. The Crooked Stix made it interesting in the closing minutes when the pulled their goalie to score with a 6 on 3 man advantage with 1:51 left in the game. Tom "t&a" Ambrosia got that back with an open netter just 3 seconds before the final buzzer. The Crooked Stix Goalie was credited with 34 saves and Ed "The Wall" Waghorn made 25 saves. The Crooked Stix won the penalty war 44 minutes to 18
