 Brinks Hammers the Anvil!


November 9th
 The Blues were so busy scoring meaningless goals that they forgot to set up a meaningful player.  The Whites and Tweedy were able to down the Blues 1-0 with a Brinks goal in the third period. The Blues won the meaningless contest 12-2.  Mini-Wheezer scored one of the goals and he also scored a goal last month that was not reported. (He bought me a beer) I can't remember who scored the other 11 goals, because they were meaningless.

Peoria, Saturday November 17th
It looks like we have more than 15 players lined up for Peoria on Saturday November 17. 
Overnighters:  Uncle Bob, Super Dave, Doc, Frank, Beak, Hacksaw, Beer-Nuts, King, Harvey, Hitman, Mini-Wheezer, Beavis, Brinks and Dan Granato.
Driving in Eddie's Camper:
The Anvil, Stump, Koss and Roger We will play on Saturday at noon, then watch the Rivermen on Saturday Night, we can also see a Sunday afternoon game on the 18th.
Meeting Place #1. 9:00AM.
Willowbrook Holiday Inn on Hwy.83, north of I-55
(Breakfast at Denny's at 8:30 is optional)
Meeting Place #2. 9:19 AM.
Cracker Barrel on Weber Road, North of I-55

If you are not sure that you want to go to Peoria, just pop the Duffer CD II into your CD-ROM drive and watch the Peoria slide and music show, you will sign up for a trip as soon as you finish.  We need a better show than last time.

New Orleans Roadtrip
The King has started to get a list together for a ride on a train to the city of New Orleans.  The Rivermen play there on Friday, March 15, 2002.  The New Orleans Brass plays other teams on Thursday and Saturday.  We will need help from the Rivermen if we want to Skate on the Big Rink.  (Probably the only Rink in town) Peoria is now a business trip.

This picture came from an unknown yahoo e-mail, with the following text:Where was Cough-an-Hour last Friday? 
     The Duffer News has learned, in an insecure attempt to fit in better with the younger crowd at the Duffer after hours bar "Tailgaters,"  Jim Coughenauer attempted to conceal his grey hairs with a home dye job.  The apparent result, Kiwi Black, was not what he had in mind.  The Duffer Poverotsky, caught Jim outside SuperCuts on Saturday morning, waiting for his Fix-It appointment.  Speculation is high, that rather than suffer the abuse on Friday, Jim was willing to miss hockey for a week and have his hair disaster corrected.
