4 Goals for Brian "Stew" Steward!

Romeoville, IL December 16, 2016  Attendance: 17
I'm too old to be double shifting. I had an 8 minute shift to end the game. Patrick Kane gets tired after 45 seconds and he is in better shape than me.  Please don't stay home when a few snow flakes fall, that is not the Duffer Way!.  The Reds had 7 players and the Whites had 8.  We only had 10 duffers show up. We were lucky to have a 5 guests.  We had more fans in the stands than we had Duffers playing.  Remember we lose a lot of money when you stay home. The Czar will have to start fining stay at home Duffers.  The only highlight was that we had 10 show up at the Kilt.  Dave "the Goalie" Young got Rob "The Naked Goalie" to answer our goalie alert.  I don't remember much about the game except that Brian Stewart scored 4 goals and sent the Bear's goalie stick for a ride after Jeff slapped his stick in the air.  Thanks to T&A, for the following report:

This is what I looked like when the game ended.

White Goals: Brian - 4 (2 assisted by Tommy Z and 2 assisted by T&A) Cowboy Joe- 2, Tommy Z - 1, V-Man -1, and Anthony (a guest wearing Birdman Dan's white jersey) had one assisted by T&A.
Red Goals: Magoo -1, Speed Racer Jeff  - 2, Thomas t&a -1, & Monet Mike -1. Hammer may have had one to make the Reds total 6?
Final Score: Whites 9. Reds 5.

Memorable Moment

We got to watch Beak's great granddaughter Carmela's team win 5-2 before we played.

                                                      Madison Update:

The following Duffers will need tickets for Friday January 20: Commander, Hammer, Rob Z and T&A
The following Duffers will need tickets for Friday January 20 and Saturday 21: Beak, Klinger, Greg Z, GI Joe, The King, Harvey, Beer Nuts and Wheezer.  Let me know if you plan on going. Rooms are hard to get when Minnesota comes to town.

Beak had 2 grandsons, a granddaughter a great grandson and great granddaughter show up.

Tuesday, December 19, 2016, Duffer Sod, Ryan Dzingel came home to his home in Wheaton.  He had many friends and family there to greet him. Tweedy's son Luke got an early Christmas present when Ryan gave him an autographed Ottawa Senator Jersey!

The Daily Herald ran this picture with a great article about Ryan the following morning.  Click here to see it.

Wednesday December 21st, we had 13 Duffers show up for our Christmas lunch.  That was more Duffers than we had show up for our last 2 games.

Seven of these guys were on our Lake Placid train trip in 1982. We talked about a train trip to Ottawa

Ryan came out to greet all of his fans with hugs and selfies.

Luke got nacho cheese on his new trophy jersey

Blast from the past!

Tommy Z had Dan laughing with his "Kiss My Bass" shirt.  Today, a kid would be sent home from school with that shirt. Their principal just laughed.

This is Ryan when he skated with us in Columbus in 2012.

Berserk was exhausted after 2 periods.

We only had 14 skaters. (Klinger played, but never made the team picture) Ryan played the whole game.  We needed him last Friday

We went to see Ryan in Ann Arbor in 2014

Ohio State beat Michigan. He had Thor's number back then too.

Frank can hold his liquor. He didn't spill a drop.

Wheezer spilled a full beer in Klinger's lap, so Bill moved to the dry side of the table and had GI Joe dump his beer in his lap!
