May 12, 2017 is our last game

This is the cup that I was wearing when we played in the Bayfront Center Arena in St Petersburg Florida in 1979 We had a practice before our game with the Sun Coast Sons. I was practicing tip ins as my son Ken was cranking slap shots. One of his shots hit my cup and cracked it. I posted this picture because I had a few questions about how I was able to redirect Jeff's hard pass last week. I just said that I practiced that often until 1979.

6 Duffer Dads Save The Day

Romeoville, IL December 23, 2016  Attendance: 22
Thanks to the following Duffer Dads: Bill BTW, Terry, Fruitcake, Beak, Grandpa Ken and Commander Ken.  They supplied us with 6 players and one referee! Art "KK" Koudelka came up from central Illinois, John Bobka flew in from the east coast, Boris came up from Florida and Bill BTW brought his daughter Lillia to help us get 2 full lines. (We also had 3 guests)  Thank You!  It was a nice change from the last two weeks.  Art scored a pair of goals for the Whites and Terry converted 2 of the many passes that his son Dylan gave him. V-Man, Commander Ken and Boris also has goals to give the Whites a 7-4 lead after 2 periods.  That was Commander Ken's 5th goal in his last 5 games.  Before the third period started, Beak told Barron, "You hold them and we will come back."  Barron shut out the Whites in the 3rd and the Reds scored 4 to win it.  Bill BTW and his daughter Lillia got the comeback started.  Bill scored on a rebound to make it 7-5, then Lillia scored on a pass from Speed Racer Jeff to make it 7-6. Jeff tied it with 3 minutes left in the game and his brother Monet Mike scored the game winner with 1:11 left to play.

Cupcake Bobka flew in for the game.

Beak had a nice goal in the first period when he redirected a rocket pass from his grandson Jeff past the left shoulder of Rob The Naked Goalie.  Beak hit him in the chest last week with a tip from Jeff, but this week he missed him.  Hammer had a mysterious goal in the second period when goalie Rob fanned on a slow moving puck that changed direction and ambled slowly across the goal line.  Hammer said that he did not touch it, but he got the goal.                             Memorable Moments:

· Commander Ken scored in five straight games.
· Hacksaw flew in from Florida, the land of underwater specialists, to score a nice goal.

· Hammer's goal was an immaculate deception.
· The outside temperature never got down to 0 C. so the roads were wet, but not slippery.

That gave us a nice turnout at the Kilt!

Final Score: Reds 8, Whites 7.

6 goals and the game winning goalie came from this group.

We thought Brian "Stew" Stewart looked like a young Art "KK" Koudelka, so we asked them to pose for this picture.

Ryan was so proud that he was able to stay awake

The Beaks scored 5 goals

Lillia scored her first Duffer goal to lead the Reds to victory.

Mini Wheezer's talented Daughter sent me memory stick filled with action pictures from our games on October 28 and November 18.
