Hitman began the scoring with a shot over the head of "The Ghost".  It hit the cross bar and fell into the net in the first period.  Papa tied the score with backhand off the rebound of his shot that found the five hole with about 10 seconds remaining in the 2nd period.  The King had to leave the game due to reoccurring skate problems forcing a change in lines.  Thor and Papa became wing mates with Stump going to defense.  Papa told Thor to go to left wing ( a cunning move ) which resulted in a Thor flutter- blast to left just inside the post of the red's net. Brian never had a chance.
The lead forced the red team to pull their goalie.  This produced another classic Way Wide Right by Thor to an empty net.  Needles to say another shot found the net by Thor but as a magnaumus gesture the white team declined to accept the goal.  Two reasons for this decision:
1- Somebody was offside
2-the white team didn't need it.

The Whites also won the meaningless contest 6-3.  That score confused the fans that were gathering for the High School game that followed.  One fan asked why the Reds pulled their goalie and added 6 over 50 year olds to attack the net. He was given an explanation of the Duffer Meaningless, Meaningful  scoring system.
