	Wags Wins 4 Straight!


	Thursday, May 31, 2018. Wags Vs Guinness (Attendance 2) Matt "The Swatter" Swastek got Wags off to a quick start with a goal that was listed as unassisted at 13:02. Guinness answered that 4 minutes later to tie the score, but Wags added two more in a 12-second span between 5:25 and 5:13 Steve "G-Man" Gaul scored the first goal unassisted and the second one was assisted by number 21 Joe "Tommy Gun" Tomazek. Guinness answered that goal 2 minutes later but Wags got a beautiful top shelf unassisted goal from Dan "Da Coach" Lopatka to make the score Wags 4, Guinness 2 at the end of period one. One minute into the second period, Wags made it 5-2 when John Waghorne fired a blast that handcuffed the goalie and left the puck in the crease for an easy tap-in by Tom "T&A" Ambrosia**. It looked like we were off and running to an easy win after that goal, but Guinness had other ideas


	Ed is happy to have his son back home and protecting the net.


	as they scored 2 goals in 5 seconds, then added another goal at 7:59 to tie the game. "What do we do, we don't quit, we didn't quit when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor." You young guys will have to watch one of those old movies we talked about. (That was a John Belushi quote from Animal House.) So what did they do? Wags players did not quit they added three quick goals to close out the 2nd period. G-Man Gaul scored with 2:35 left with a beautiful passing play from coach Dan Lopatka and Tom "Z-Man" Zagorski. Danny "Da mayor" Emmanuel followed that with a goal at 1:53 with assists from John Waghorne and "Tommy Gun" Tomazek. Justin "Latex" Vanderee* put the dagger in with 25 seconds left in period 2. Three quick goals to close out the period gave Wags an 8-5 lead. G-Man Gall opened the third period with two quick goals at 13:49 and 13:37 to give Wags a five-goal lead and a running clock. The standing-room-only crowd was happy to see that. The running clock lasted until 6:22 when Guinness scored at 6:22. But Matt "The Swatter" Swastek scored a minute later to restore the running clock until the end of the game and everybody got to the beer cooler in record time. Wags 11, Guinness 6. Ed "The Wall" Waghorne made 16 saves and the Guinness goalie made 25.

	It was a very fast-paced hockey game. We were happy to see big Schultz throw his body in front of a slap shot to block it. Our other defenseman did a really good job of keeping shots down to a minimum although Ed did have to make a tremendous save on a breakaway. Next Wags game is Sunday at 8:50.


	Wags has a new fan who drove here all the way from Boston.

*We had a discussion about nicknames in the locker room and a moniker for Justin Vanderee came up. Kevin Glass mentioned that his name sounded like the fictional company Vandelay Industries. George Costanza claims to have been interviewed for a latex salesman. That name is a stretch, but we will use it until something better comes up. We had a lot of laughs.
